Yesterday, more than 100 Taiwan businessmen visited the enterprises in Dongxihu District. The general manager of “Wuhan Uni-President Enterprise Corp. (PEC for short)” works as “the voluntary investment promotion ambassador”, he warmly invited those Taiwan compatriots: “welcome to invest here.”

“Among all the branches of PEC, Wuhan branch is not the biggest, however, its benefit is the best, and the sales and profits are above the quota every year,” said the general manager, “it’s the excellent investment environment that helps enterprises develop better.” Each time the businessmen visit here, the PEC will provide voluntary publicity for the investment environment of Wuhan, especially the Dongxihu District. With the recommendation of PEC, there have been five Taiwan-funded enterprises settled in the district.

The Dongxihu District takes the advantage of the munificent science and technology talents in Wuhan, and makes full use of “Cobweb” three-dimensional transport resources of water, land, air, and railway. The high-density road network within the district designated 500 square kilometers “half-hour economic circle”, which achieved “nine availabilities” of water, electricity, roads, gas, telecommunications etc. and the leveling of ground. Moreover, the solid industrial foundation and developed logistics industry provide a hardware platform for the enterprises’ strategic expansion in central China, and the investors are more satisfied with the soft environment here.

Aiming at “Zero barriers, low-cost, and high efficiency”, the Dongxihu District invests more than 30 million RMB to build the Government Affairs Service Centre, and implements one stop services of “window reception, parallel operation, concentrated charge and time limit handling”, to create the permanent green channel for the settlement and production of enterprises.

Each foreign-funded enterprise here has the contact means of the District leaders. One morning, the main water pipe of PEC broke, which caused the production interrupted. After the leaders knew it, they organized Water Company of the District to repair at the very night. At last, the beverage line resumed production after four hours.

When Japanese-funded enterprise F-TECH came to Dongxihu District, it proposed 30 problems involving transportation, water supply, environmental protection, gas and other aspects. The District Government convened the relevant departments to resolve all of these issues within three days. Despite the settlement of less than one year, the company invested 200 million RMB other than the amount they had planned.

In recent years, the Dongxihu District has always maintained two “Zero” record: First, District Government charge on foreign-funded enterprises is zero; second, the complaint of foreign-funded enterprises on District Government is zero.

There’s more than one such ambassador like “PEC” in the District. For example, Wuhan branch of Pepsi Cola introduced Bright Dairy; and Taiwan Yadong Cement also introduced shipping company to settle down here.

Now, Dongxihu District becomes “the paradise”- the favorite place for the investors, more than 1300 enterprises have been founded and put into production; furthermore, the food processing, mechanical and electrical manufacture, information logistics industry, modern service etc. have gradually become prosperous on a large scale.
