“The swampy village emits fragrance throughout four seasons, the pomegranates have been red on the tree; happily learn of the auspice on Cihui Community, moonlight lingers longer in Yunmeng”. On July 15, 20 plus noted authors from Mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan can not help but give such acclamation after visiting the new countryside demonstration point in our district.
On the very day, 24 noted authors came to Shiliuhong Village, Cihui Community to gather source of inspiration. Entering the village, the sight of white walls and black tile, small bridge over the flowing stream, green willow and fragrant lotus, pomegranate weighting the branches, an eyeful of harmony and plenty in the new countryside, making the writers forget to return and praise ceaselessly, taking out cameras to photograph for memory. Huang Kunyao, a writer and the professor of Chinese Department of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, told the reporters in surprise that it was un-thought-of that the swampy Yunmeng had turned into an attractive new countryside.
Huang Kunyao said: “I am surprised after being here, it is a place that boasts agriculture, environmental protection, afforestation, ecological tourism, as well as the influx of concept that many people of modern times are after”.
After visiting the new folk houses, finishing eating farmhouse meal, in the dim moonlight, the writers appreciated the local villagers' folk performance.
Huang Weiliang, professor from department of literature of Taiwan Fo Guang University said: “I have stayed in Taiwan, Hong Kong and the mainland, I have also been to many Western countries, but haven’t seen a good combination of modern city and traditional countryside. Here impressed me much”.
The writer David from New Zealand was deeply attracted by the “ditty of pushing boats” characteristic of rich local folklore.
David said: “Shiliuhong village is beautiful, villagers' performance is very splendid. I am surprised there is such a beautiful place in Chinese countryside, I will come again”.
The writers expressed that the tour of Shiliuhong village had given them a profound impression of the new countryside construction achievement in our district. They will use various literature forms to reflect the immense change in the countryside after going back.
