To further promote the popularity of the “Four Seasons Propitious” new countryside construction, celebrate the Beijing Olympic Games, the “Green Olympics, Green Village” poetry competition was held in Shiliuhong Village on July 27, 2008, which was jointly sponsored by the Wuhan Writers Association, the Changjiang River Daily, Propaganda Department of Dongxihu District Party Committee, District Cultural and Sports Bureau, District Bureau of Education, and organized by Cihui Community of Dongxihu District. The 24 poets from Wuhan “1+8” City Circle came up with their cherished work and set up an arena of poetry themed of “welcome the Olympic Games” in front of over a thousand farmer judges.

The 24 poets recited poems in turn, the farmer judges raised hand to vote for “the gold medal poet”. Poet Zhang Xianguo brought the work "Insect is Singing" who had publicized the poetry anthology "Life is Like Fire", he smiled to say that the match was stressful: “many poems are obscure to understand, how to enable the farmer to comprehend the lasting appeal is a test for poetry creation.”

After the contention, Dong Hongliang from WISCO obtained the title “the gold medal poet”. He donated all 5000 Yuan bonuses on the scene to the village library in Sichuan disaster area for purchasing technical books.
