On the evening of May 7, 2008, the signing ceremony for the settling down of Wuhan Ruyi Edible Fungus High Tech R&D Center Project in Wuhan Food Processing Zone was held in Wuhan ShangriLa Hotel. Wuhan Ruyi Edible Fungus High Tech R&D Center is invested by Wuhan Ruyi Agriculture Development Company Limited—a wholly owned subsidiary of Xiamen Ruyi Group Company Limited, a state-level agricultural industrialization key leading enterprise”. Covering 100 mu, the company has 120,000,000 Yuan total investment, and will be built into an internationally advanced edible fungus high tech R&D center integrating edible fungus R&D, pilot run demonstration, technical training, industry incubation, preserving and packing, brand construction, export and forex earning, with “market + factory + base + order + peasant ” as the main business mode. It will drive the modernization, intensification and standardized construction of edible fungus industry in Wuhan and Hubei. Through the promotion and application of international advanced operative technologies like the production of liquid spawn, edible fungus through the year highly effective cultivation in factory and so on, making the variety structure of edible fungus in Wuhan and even Hubei be adjusted and optimized, and the edible fungus industry be upgraded to a new generation.
After the completion of project, it can provide an annually 2,000,000 bags (bottles) of spawn at a cost price to fungus-raisers around the Wuhan area. As a result, it would mobilize over 10,000 fungus-raisers or laid-off workers to breed high quality edible fungus which could add 5000~8000 Yuan income in average to every household. Implement technical training to fungus-raisers with modern science and technology which would bring real benefits to them. The overall level of agriculture, rural areas and farmers will be improved so as to create a new pattern of modernization in terms of agriculture, rural areas and peasants. More than 100,000 households of fungus-raisers will be benefited indirectly. By the year of 2010, the whole Wuhan area can produce 15 million square meters of grass decay fungi, 45 million bags (bottles) of wood decay fungi to provide more than 170,000 tons of edible fungus to the market each year.
