On Jan 24^th, the district government signed a scientific cooperation agreement with CAS Wuhan Botanical Garden to accelerate the ecological environment construction and promote the local economic development and industrialization process with united resources and human intelligence.

It is introduced that, as the “fruit basket” of Wuhan, our district’s annual production of juicy peach, grapes and strawberry respectively account for 28.8%, 74.4% and 42.6% of the total output in Wuhan. Especially for the peach and grape planting industries which are the absolute superiority in Wuhan while the Wuhan Botanical Garden possesses the most qualified teaching staff and abundant plant resource.

According to the agreement, both of the parties shall have active interaction and cooperation on several aspects such as resource sharing, personnel training, scientific research and technical industries. Concretely, it includes the popularization of new species and technologies and the construction of demonstration base, training of fruit tree planting techniques, construction planning and optimization of ecological environment, design and construction of garden landscape, as well as the united application for related state and provincial projects. Besides, our district shall also provide various preferential policies, conditions and adequate services to support the establishment of ecological touring garden with advanced level in China and take the peach species as the main body.

At the signing ceremony, deputy head of district Han Minchun pointed out that this cooperation needs to positively explore the construction of “two kinds” society, especially the environmental friendly society construction which depends on mutual cooperation to develop the industry and agriculture in Dongxihu District, and stabilize the harmonious urban environment construction. At the same time, this cooperation must start from introducing the new agricultural products and technologies so that the farmers can enjoy the profits brought forward by them as soon as possible. Based on this, the cooperation scope shall be further expanded.
