Recently the project unit introduces that the old Boquan town tries to display the scenes like this: many Chu-style houses, inns, old shops and markets are scattered at the hinterland of wetland protective zone of ancient Yunmeng, demonstrating the charm of Chu and Han.

Reconstruct the Maomiao Market

Maomiao market is the predecessor of Boquan town and formed at the end of Ming dynasty and beginning of Qing dynasty. Affected by the rising of trade and commerce of Hankou town, it has developed into a large market with a certain influence from the original natural market, which produced a group of old famous brands in such fields as cake house, rice mill, cloth shop, cards place and dipping snuff shop.

In the project, the Maomiao Market will be reconstructed.

Restoration of old famous brands, including “three trades”: the pork mill, the fish culture and the cart transport; “three bars”: Heaven Knows Tea House, Tu Ziji Wine Bar and Huang Yuying Snuff Bar; “three mills”: pressing mill, grindery and brew mill, as well as Zhou Yuchang and Zhang Fuxing grocery, and Wannian Stage (Chu Opera Stage).

Additionally the facilities for recreation and catering will be expanded and folk-custom historical & cultural industry will be provided, also the cultural and arts tourism festival shall be held.
