68 leading processing enterprises in agricultural products settling in the district have radiated to and driven the development of 1876000 mou agricultural production area over more than 20 cities and counties in Hubei province, it has become an important processing base for modern agricultural products in central China region.  

  Recently the head of Dongxihu district of Wuhan Yan Puliu introduced the development features of governed area to the journalist: during the “Eleventh Five-year Plan” period, modern processing, technology incubation, circulation and information, living and recreation will be further merged at Dongxihu district, and a new Hankou ecological town is rising abruptly.  

  The provincial Party committee and provincial government has put forward in 2002 that the county economy shall take private operation as the main body and march toward a road of industrialization, urbanization and agricultural industrialization, which is simply called as “One domination and three –ization”. According to the guideline, the management of Dongxihu district has analyzed its own advantages and set up a method flourishing the district by “driving the industrialization and urbanization by ecology and informatization”, which keeps the good and quick development tendency, and its economic development speed is by far higher than the domestic average level.

  Dongxihu district had realized total output value 8.47 billion yuan last year, which increased by 15% than the same period of last year; the government financial revenue reached RMB 2.139 billion yuan, increased by 30.5% than the same period of last year; local financial revenue was RMB 985 million yuan, increased by 36.5% than the same period of last year. The average local financial revenue is ranked among the top for 7 years continuously in Hubei and Wuhan.
